Outstanding as usual
I happened to get the new on stage seats this year, and it was a great idea to move the stage out so the audience could see the whole band and props. The music and vocals were outstanding, and not enough can be said about the band. Last year, I was on the right side of the balcony and could barely see the drummer, the video screen, and band members at the back of the stage. While it was very cool sitting on the stage and seeing the band that close, I will go back to the reserved balcony seats next year. I think they should drop the on-stage seating and bring the props back on stage where everyone can see them better. Looking at the band's backs for most of the show isn't for me. I want to watch the band play and sing, not stare at their backs. They should make the whole floor reserved seating so most of the venue can enjoy the concert in some comfort. The Pageant oversells these shows, so people with GA tickets can't even find a place to stand where they can see the show. I was disappointed that they did not use the lighted grim reaper at the beginning of Shine on you Crazy Diamonds. I hope next year they go back to using more props. That is what makes this show so much more than just a concert. The video screen was much better than the TVs on stage, and I wasn't impressed by the laser show this year either. I am a picky music critic, and now that I got all my complaints off my chest, the show was still truly amazing, and I will be back next year.
